Shell starts Changbei flows to Chinese cities

Shell’s largest onshore joint-venture project, the Changbei gas field, has come onstream on its way to dispensing 3 billion cubic metres per year from its sprawl in Inner Mongolia.

PetroChina Co. Ltd. will share in the new gas deliveries from the Ordos Basin, Shaanxi Province, to Beijing, Tianjin, Shandong and Hebei.

Shell has had to apply long-range, multi-lateral horizontal well to overcome Chanbei basin’s tough geology.
