Indian federal government on Thursday awarded 52 oil and gas exploration blocks under NELP-VI, in which ONGC got 24 and Reliance Industries won the bid for seven. Of the 24 blocks awarded to ONGC, 12 are deep water, 10 on land and 2 in shallow water. 
Canadian company Enbridge Inc. will conduct a non-binding Open Season for firm capacity on a new 26-mile, 20-inch diameter deepwater crude oil pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico. The pipeline will transport oil from the Green Canyon, Block 613, to a sub-sea connection with the Caesar Oil Pipeline Company, LLC, system in Green Canyon, Block 650. 
Lukoil’s overseas operator, Lukoil Overseas, has struck oil at the Condor field, Columbia, where 100 million barrels are believed hidden, it was learned Thursday. 
Lloyd's Register North America, Inc. has received authorisation from the US Coast Guard (USCG) to review plans and conduct inspections on its behalf for floating offshore installations (FOIs) in US waters, including the Outer Continental Shelf. 
Petro-Canada has rejected oil-company bids to share its oil-sands acreage at Chard, Stony Mountain, Liege, Thornbury an Ipiatik in the west of the country, where 1.7 billion barrels of bitumen are in place.
Verenex confirms oil discovery at first exploration well in Libya Feb 7, 2007
Canada-based Verenex Energy Inc. provides additional information on interim production testing results at its first exploration well in Libya, A1-47/02 in Area 47 in the Ghadames Basin, and to confirm its status as an oil discovery. 
The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has announced that Wintershall Norge A.S. has been awarded one new license in the annual Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) 2006 in the Norwegian Sea. With a working interest of 40% Wintershall will participate together with the second largest Norwegian oil producer Hydro (60%) in the exploration block 6407/9. 
North Sea specialist supplier Acergy (NASDAQ ACGY, Oslo ACY) will lay and install pipeline for Marathon Oil at the Volund field off Norway, it was learned Tuesday.

Endeavour awarded eight licenses in U.K. licensing round Feb 5, 2007
Endeavour International Corporation today confirmed that its United Kingdom subsidiary, Endeavour Energy UK Limited, has been awarded eight production licenses covering 10 blocks in the 24th Seaward Licensing Round. The results of the round were announced today by the UK Department of Trade and Industry.
