Contact gets approval for Stoney Creek field

Contact Exploration Inc. has received final regulatory approvals required from the New Brunswick Department of Environment to begin production from its second horizontal Stoney Creek well (I-88-2328) and its first reworked vertical well (N-78-2328).

Production has commenced on both wells at its 100% owned Stoney Creek Field located near Moncton, New Brunswick.

These approvals bring Contact’s producing wells in the Stoney Creek Field to 3 and the company will continue to evaluate and introduce additional production from existing wells identified in the rework program completed last year.

Contact is delighted to report that as of today’s date they have shipped approximately 2000 barrels of oil from Stoney Creek to the Irving Refinery at Saint John, New Brunswick for refining.

Contact’s production marks the first oil production in the province in over 30 years.
