Oil company BP has awarded Paris-based contractor Technip the €90 million job of engineering and delivering flexible pipes to the Skarv floating production ship in the North Sea.

Flexi France’s Le Trait workshops will assemble the pipelines.

BP Norge last week awarded the U.K. Lowestoft yard of SLP Engineering Ltd. the engineering, procurement and construction work for the 2,600-tonne Valhall hotel platform of 180 beds, a power-from-shore module and three work rooms.

The new Valhall facility will produce 120,000 barrels of oil per day plus 143 million standard cubid metres per day of gas. The fiedl has been onstream in Block 2/8 Norwegian sector of the North Sea since 1982, but has recently been redesigned to counter seabed subsidance.
