Thai round attracts Salamander, Chevron

Thailand’s latest oil and gas round has attracted 41 applications for 21 mostly landward blocks — an eclipse of last year’s interest — with local supermajor Chevron seeking out three offshore blocks, Reuters reported Friday.

Chevron joined with PTT and Mitsui Oil Exploration in the bidding, while 3i-supported independent Salamander went for two onshore blocks, the news agency said.
