Gulf of Mexico

Technip will install an electro-hydraulic control umbilical for the Bass Lite in the Gulf of Mexico, a Mariner Energy contract of unspecified value.

The Paris-based group much engineer three steel umbilical sections some 40 kilometres each before connector that control the subsea system. The work order follows a pipeline contract awarded to Technip in 2006 for the same field.

The ubilical will tie back two Bass Lite subsea wells in 6,750 feet of water to the Devils Tower Spar(2) moored in 5,600 ft of water, both in Atwater Valley Block 426.

Technip's operations and engineering center in Houston will execute the contract. Umbilical sections will be loaded out onto the Apache, a Technip pipelay vessel, for installation offshore by year-end 2007.
