Aker connects for $75M Troll-Vega umbilical deal

Aker Kvaerner has signed a NOK 434 million ($74.5 million )contract with Subsea 7 Norway to deliver steel-tube umbilical for Norsk Hydro's Vega and Troll O2 developments in the North Sea.

Aker Kvaerner Subsea will deliver 60 kilometres of umbilical, with the Troll lengths representing NOK 33 million of the total contract value.

"This order further confirms our position as the leading supplier of steel tube umbilicals worldwide," company executive VP Raymond Carlsen said in a statement.

Aker workshops in Moss, near Oslo Norway, will have to start delivering the “static and dynamic” umilical by April 2009.
