RWE, Dana count up Cavendish gas

Germany-based offshore operator RWE Dea and U.K. independent Dana Petroleum have first production from the Cavendish field, where 60 million standard cubic feet per day of gas are onstream.

Production will increase towardy year-end, as wells No. 2 and No. 3 are drilled and reined in. The Block 43/19a development 180 kilometres north off Bacton sits in just 18.5 metres of water. It’s 50-50 owned by Dana and operator RWE Dea

Heerema Vlissingen of the Netherlands built the six-slot, minimum facilities platform, Technip put in the pipeline to the Murdoch platform and Noble Asset Ltd. the drilling. Gas is now sent to the U.K. Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal.

Dana now has 15 producing fields in the North Sea .
