Sub-sea contractor Subsea 7 has won a double-bill Norsk Hydro contract worth $340 million for engineering, procuerment installation and commissioning at Vega, Vega South and the Troll 02 fields off southwest Norway.
Vega and Vega South are worth $280 million and include designs and installation of one 14-inch and two 12-inch flow lines totalling 51 kilometres between the fields and the Gjøa platform. Three umbilical must also be designed, built and installed, as do three pipelines for monoethylene glycol inection.
At Troll 02, the $61 million assignment comprises two flexible flowlines and one umbilical, totaling. 13 km. Troll West sits 70 km northwest of Bergen in 320 m of water.
Flowlines will be built at a “spool base” being built at Vigra on the west coast of Norway. Offshore installation work for both projects will get underway by summer 2009.
