First hands Algeria FEED to Technip’s Genesis

First Calgary MLE field

First Calgary Petroleums Ltd. has awarded the front-end engineering and design, or FEED contract for the giant Menzel Ledjment East project in Algeria to Technip business Genesis Oil & Gas Consultants Ltd.

Sonatrech put the decision in operator First Calgary’s hands at Block 405b and the tender took place on 30 May 2007. The FEED work will take six months.

London-listed First Calgary has teased shareholders for months with the success of its Algerian exploration, and was once a takeover target believed too small to oversee turnkey hires.
