Toensberg-, Norway based Grenland Group has penned a tentative deal with FMC Technologies, Kongsberg, to build, assemble and test a large sub-sea template bound for the Troll field.

The NOK35 million ($5.8-million) letter of intent names a 350-foot, six-slot manifold and integrated template.

Norsk Hydro's Troll 02 expansion includes the gas and condensate fields Vega and Vega South. They lie beneath 380 metres of water in Blocks 35/8 and 35/11, 80 kilometres off the southwest coast of Norway.

Delivery is due 1 December 2008.

Grenland has earned NOK135 millon in Troll 02 fabrication work, a nod to management who bought Heerema's hangar in "Scandinavia's oldest town".
