U.K.-listed E&P outfit Faroe Petroleum has struck a rig deal through well-management company AGR for the drilling of the Breagh appraisal well in Block 42/13 of the Southern North Sea Gas Basin.
Faroe Petroleum has a 10-percent interest in the discovery, where Sterling Resources is operator with a 50-percent working interest.
The Breagh well is scheduled to spud in September 2007 by the ENSCO 85 drill rig, a rig of southern North Sea renown.
Meanwhile, Sterling has entered into a letter of intent to charter the GSP Prometeu jack-up rig in the Black Sea for one firm well and one option at the Doina Sister, from December 2007 to March 2008.
