Statoil looks to earn barrels at Ermintrude

Statoil will look at producing the newly defined Ermintrude discovery in the North Sea via a tie-in to the Sleipner, Volve or Gudrun fields, after the detection of new extensions of gas and oil.

Appraisal wells 15/6-9 A and B on the 15/6-9 S just north of Sleipner showed gas and light oil at the top of the field structure and oil in lower strata of Jurassic.

The appraisals point conservatively to between 8 million standard cubic feet and 12 MMscf of recoverable oil equivalent. About half is believed to be oil.
