India’s 50-block August licensing round could be cancelled if participating supermajors pull out in reported “protest” over government intervention in production-sharing contracts, it was learned Tuesday.
According to the Times of India, BP, BG, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Niko Resources and Royal Dutch Shell “have expressed their dissatisfaction over the government's failure to respect commercial contracts” and attempts to the change terms for new discoveries.
