Five Australian oil and gas companies have formed an Alliance to collectively acquire hydrocarbon projects together focusing initially on Africa. The companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which will allow them to pool their resources in seeking, evaluating and acquiring high value projects.
ExxonMobil to share Mandar production Mar 28, 2007
ExxonMobil Corp. and the Indonesian governemtn have penned a production-sharing contract for the Mandar block in the “volatile” Makassar Straits offshore the West Sulawesia island.

OMV Aktiengesellschaft announced a discovery and successful testing of gas in its Latif 1 exploration well in the Latif Exploration Block in Northern Sindh province/Pakistan. At the inauguration of a new 36MW solar photovoltaic (PV) production line, the board of Tata BP Solar confirmed that this represents another step towards realizing the designed potential of the 300MW plant. The new production line has seen Tata BP Solar more than double its cell manufacturing capacity to reach some 50MW per annum. The next phase of the expansion will see an additional 128MW of cell manufacturing capacity added during 2007-8.

GAIL-RIL sign MoU for Joint Co-operation Mar 19, 2007
GAIL (India) Limited and Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in gas sector. The MoU was signed on 15th March 2007 by Mr. R K Goel, Director (Finance), GAIL and Mr. P M S Prasad, President and CEO, Petroleum, Reliance Industries Limited, in the presence of GAIL CMD, Dr. U D Choubey. 
Norwegian cylindrical oil platform builder Sevan Marine will expand its fleet of four “rigs” under construction to five under a deal reached with two Chinese yards, while securing hulls for a No. 6 and No. 7.
Victoria says oil shows in target sandstone drilled in Jingemia-11 development well Mar 14, 2007
Victoria Petroleum NL has been advised by Origin Energy Limited, operator of the L14 Joint Venture and Jingemia-11 oil development well, that at 0600 hours Western Standard Time today, the current operation was drilling ahead at 2,528 metres measured depth. 
Aussie outfit ROC Oil will have another go at the Perth Basin offshore Wesstern Australia in a three-well campaign targeting “another Cliff Head”. |
