MANATI PETROBRAS BRAZIL OFFSHORE

Hydro in Brazil and 50-50 partner Anadarko have declared the Peregrino oil field worthy of commercializing, and have sent their development application to the Agência Nacional do Petróleo in Rio de Janeiro, a statement late Thursday said.

From 300 million barrels to 600 MMbbls of heavy oil are said to be recoverable in the shallow-water field 85 kilometers offshore Brazil.

A floating production, storage and offloading vessel, or FPSO, plus two drilling platforms will preside over 30 horizontal production wells and seven water injection wells.

Hydro will be operator during planning, and Anadarko during “project execution” and operations.
