Published Apr 9, 2007
Louisiana oilfield-services outfit Superior Energy has bought Texas company Advanced Oilwell Services for $24.1 million in cash, it was learned Tuesday.
Advanced offers primary cementing and pressure-pumping services, mostly in the East Texas. The company's 33 staff average 25 years of oil-industry experience and build their own pressure pumping equipment, and is one of the only independent cementing companies with a large stockpile of cement and additives.
The deal is part of a $362-million spree planned for 2007 by Superior, which also has stakes in offshore Gulf of Mexico oilfields.
