A consortium of oilfield infrastructure builders J. Ray McDermott and Fluor has been awarded a contract to engineer, build, install and procure for BG’s offshore Poinsettia project in Trinidad & Tobago.
The development, in 530 feet water, calls for a 9,000-ton jacket and 4,600t support piles. Design work will be completed at J. Ray's engineering office in Houston and construction at its workshops in Morgan City, Louisiana.
Fluor Daniel will lead the consortium and perform overall project management, as well as the design and fabrication of topsides using Trinidad-based fabrication outfit TOFCO, a joint venture of Louisiana-based Chet Morrison Contractors and Trinidad-based Weldfab Limited.
"Each company played a key role in contributing to an effective model to deliver this project in 24 months,” a statement said.
