BG Group will sell three of four properties in the Western Canadian sedimentary basin to Canada-based Progress Energy Ltd. for C$525 million ($445 million), it was learned Tuesday.

The three properties — called Bubbles, Ojay and Copton/Lynx — will likely change hands by April.

But BG will remain the area with its 50 percent interest in the producing Waterton asset of southwest Alberta. It’s the last of four parcels bought in 2004 from El Paso Oil and Gas Canada Inc. for $345.6 million.
