Shell’s Bonny terminal closed by Nigerian “youth”

Published May 16, 2007

Protesting “youths” in Nigeria have managed to shut-down a key pipeline “manifold” supplying the 170,000-barrel-per-day Bonny export terminal, it was reported Wednesday.

News agency Thomson-Financial in the capital Lagos reported Shell people were due to meet the youths to address their grievances.

The choking off at Bamu curbed Shell volumes by 137,000 bpd, the agency reported.
