Patent auction reaches energy industry

A peculiar auction will be held this June in London where fuel-cell patents, exhaust-scrubbing technology and other green inventions will be offered all-comers, it was understood Thursday.

Auctioneering outift Ocean Tomo appears to be selling six patents to the highest bidder, with most aimed at the energy industry. The event is the IP (Intellectual Property) Summit & Live Auction 2007.

On the block are fuel-cell systems with “improved fuel fluid supply and reactant product purge”; particulate removal of up to 99 percent efficiency and sensors to detect gas, temperature and acidity changes.
