BP’s U.S. renewable energy business has placed an order with Danish wind-power giant Vestas for 182 turbines which could cost upwards of $165 million, according to one estimate.
The order for V82 1.65-Megawatt turbines from BP Alternative Energy North America comes just as Vestas on Friday announced a deal for 41 of the type for Wisconsin Power & Light Co.
Deliveries will begin late in 2008, a Vestas statement said.
OilGas24.com called Vestas to confirm the value of the order but was told “We never give out the price” by a company spokesman.
