Norwegian conglomerate, Orkla Group, fresh from its sale of newspaper holdings, is investing in Norwegian solar energy success story, Renewable Energy Corp., it was learned Monday.
After picking up 12 percent of REC shares at the weekend, Orkla says the seller, Good Energies Investment, will sell a further four percent.
The Orcla group, with its $9 billion in operating revenues, owns Elkem and over four years bought and sold Carlsberg Breweries. It’s now focused on the Nordic home market while growing in The East of Europe by owning well-known brands.
